Business Detonator · Last updated 2026-09-24

This policy explains what information Business Detonator ("Business Detonator", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It covers our websites and the Business Detonator platform — including the Detonator CRM, Content Engine, Executive Assistant and Detonator Sites (together, the "Service").

1. Two kinds of data, two roles

Account data. When you (a business using the Service) sign up, contact us, or pay us, we collect information about you and your team. For this data we decide how it is used.

Customer data. When you use the Service, you store information about YOUR customers and prospects in it — contacts, conversations, appointments, form submissions, call records and similar. We process customer data on your behalf and on your instructions, to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and any required consent to collect it and to contact the people it describes.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us: name, business name, email address, phone number, billing details (card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us), and anything you send us in a message or form.

Information created when you use the Service: your settings, the content you create, the records you store, and logs of actions taken in your workspace.

Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookies needed to keep you signed in.

Communications content: when you use the Service's email, text message (SMS), web chat or phone features, the content of those messages and calls — including call recordings, voicemails and transcripts where those features are switched on — is stored so it can be shown in your inbox and history.

3. How we use information

To provide, operate, secure and support the Service; to send the emails and text messages you ask the Service to send; to bill you; to prevent spam, fraud and abuse (including the automated checks that suspend accounts which send unsolicited messages); to comply with law; and to improve the Service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your customer data to market to your customers ourselves.

4. Artificial intelligence features

Some features use AI models to draft or send replies (for example web chat, SMS and voice assistants), summarize calls, classify messages, or generate content. To do this, the relevant text or audio is sent to an AI model provider acting on our behalf, which returns a result. We send only what the feature needs, and we do not use your customer data to train AI models.

AI output can be wrong. Where a feature can send a message automatically, you control whether it is switched on, and staff corrections you give the assistant are stored in your workspace to improve its future replies for your business only.

5. Text messages and email

Text messages sent through the Service are delivered by a telecommunications provider, and email by an email delivery provider, each acting on our behalf. Mobile numbers and SMS consent records are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing. Recipients can reply STOP to any text message, or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, and the Service records and honors that choice.

6. Who helps us process data (service providers)

We use carefully chosen service providers to run the Service: cloud hosting and database services, email delivery, text messaging and voice calling, AI model providers, payment processing, file storage, analytics, and customer support tools. They receive only the data needed to perform their function, process it on our instructions, and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, property or safety of Business Detonator, our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred data).

7. Retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active and afterward as needed to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to resolve disputes. Customer data is kept while your workspace exists; some features keep data for a shorter, fixed period (for example short-lived voice recordings or verification codes). When you ask us to close your workspace, we delete or anonymize its customer data within a reasonable period, except where the law requires us to keep it. Backups roll off on their normal schedule.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to people who need it, and per-workspace data separation. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Your choices and rights

You can view, correct, export and delete much of your data directly in the Service. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your account data. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

If you are a customer of a business that uses the Service, please contact that business first — it controls your data. We will help it respond.

10. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version, and material changes will be announced in the Service or by email. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact link on our home page.
